What to prepare before checking
Before opening either service, gather the applicant's details. Without them the system will not find the case or will return a «no consta» error.
- For infoext2: NIE, filing date and birth year, or case number, filing date and birth year, depending on the selected tab.
- The receipt contains the case number and filing date; do not substitute a passport for NIE unless the form permits it.
- Citizenship uses the separate Ministry of Justice service and its requested identifiers.
Two official routes
The infoext2.delegaciondelgobierno.gob.es portal shows the status of immigration cases using the identifiers requested in its form.
Citizenship by residence has its own Ministry of Justice service, «Cómo va lo mío», which shows the processing stage of the file.

What each status means
- En trámite: under review; continue checking notifications and deadlines.
- Requerimiento/subsanación: read the notice and deadline. Correction commonly allows ten working days; consequences depend on the request.
- Resuelto favorable: read the decision; the next stage may be a visa, entry, Social Security registration or TIE, depending on the route.
- Resuelto desfavorable: remedies and deadlines depend on the decision; reconsideration is not universal.
- No consta: check details and service coverage; the entry may appear later.
If the status never changes
Processing times depend on the permit type and the province. Once the legal deadline has passed with no change, you can file a formal request to move the case forward and, in some cases, rely on administrative silence.
First make sure no requerimiento went unread: notices usually arrive electronically only, and a missed deadline is the most common reason files are closed.
